ipod update 2.0.1 problems

After the ipod update 2.0.1 for my Ipod classic 120G. I have issues with the ipod loading my music library. I have utilized my laptop with a new desktop over the years and didn't have any issues before the update. Is there any way to roll back the update that I never wanted in the first place? Is there any other solution to circumvent this issue?

Thanks again for your reply. Sorry for the delayed response. I have been exhaustively searching for solutions. It is ironic that all my troubles have started since the itunes 12.6.0.100. I have made a fresh itunes library of my 130G plus music and even went as far as to convert all to apple lossless audio in hopes to facilitate syncing of the ipod. I reformatted the ipod with exfat long version with success. I synced the ipod to the itunes library and all seemed to go well until the last few songs. At that point the sync failed and froze up the ipod. It was impossible to eject, even with the command prompt. Now for some reason the disk is inaccessible. The ipod diagnostic menu doesn't activate and putting it in DFU mode just seems to be inactive. Because of my dependency on my ipod I am now searching for alternative measures. ie, purchase an iFlash card, either solo, dual or quad. Since it requires opening, a new battery would be a good option. I am curious if my onboard NOR chip is corrupt. Would it be advisable to upgrade the logic board as well. I would rather invest into physical upgrades since apple doesn't have a platform similar to the one I have been accustomed to. For around 140 euros I can refurbish my ipod classic. Much cheaper than a new unit of similar quality. Thank you in advance for any information you could provide. Mikel

Hi there turingtest2, After a long wait for all the components to arrive, I can officially say my ipod classic 120G 6 gen is working wonderful. I replaced the HHD with an i-flash quad micro sd adapter. Currently for me to utilize itunes I must stay within the 128G limit apple put on the 6 gen. I also replaced the LCD screen and case covers due to my non-expertise in removing the cover, lol . I have a spare battery on hand since the existing one has worked perfectly in regards to play time. I am certain that the playtime will be increased as well as the operating temperature being decreased The 128G micro SD with 80mb transfer rate makes adding music a pleasure since I had to format it previously. If and when I choose to go with increased storage it will be necessary to either switch the logic board with a 160G 7 gen. or utilize Rockbox third party software. Thanks for all the assistance you provided earlier for helping me determine the problem and ultimately the course of action I took in refurbishing my loved ipod classic.
