Deleting ALL spam from iPad/iPhone

I have over 5,500 messages in my Spam folder taking up more and more memory. Do you really expect me to delete them one by one? Please reinstate the Delete All option in the Spam folder.

I deleted the complete email address and then installed it again as a new one - but all the spam is still there. Please fix ASAP.

Thank you.

I think I found the cause and the solution to this issue:

The Spam folder is not created by Apple Mail, it is created by Apache Spam Assassin (at least in my case), a common Anti-Spam app for most Linux servers. This is why Apple does not have the Delete All option in that folder.

To get rid of all the spam collected in your Spam folder in one fell swoop you have to be able to log into your server's control panel (I think cPanel X is the most common one). Under Mail find Apache Spam Assassin, and there you can click on Clear Spam Box, and voilá, all the spam is gone. This will only work on IMAP accounts which is Apple's default ayway.

If you want you can disable Spam Box in which case spam will be deleted.

Brian, the "Delete All" option in Mail does not exist in the Spam folder (iOS 10.3.1 for iPad).

It is only available in the Trash folder. The Edit in the Spam folder gives you only "Mark All"; that in turn only lets you "Flag" and "Mark as Read" options. At this point the only way to get rid of messages in the Spam folder is to delete them one by one. Try to do that 5,500 times!
