Is it possible to show the pictures in a slideshow by chronological order?

Hi. I´ve just made a slideshow with lots of pictures - about 1000. I put it togheter by choosing all pictures from one persons "faces-album". Afterwards i deleted "uneccessary" pictures, from the slideshow-project. The end product was a nearly chronological slideshow of the persons life. Now I´ve added further pictures to the slideshow, from different time-periods. The added pictures ends up at the end of the slideshow, which breaks the chronological effect totally. Does anyone know some way to force pictures in a specific slideshow to be shown i chronological order?

best regards

Tore

Do you know a way of moving pictures from a slideshow to an album? If not, I guess I have to tell Apple this is my missing feature for the moment

This is working for me in macOS Sierra 10.12.4 (it has not been possible in previous versions, when I tried):

  • Select several slides at once in the filmstrip of the slideshow.
  • Open the Info panel with ⌘I. You will see a summarized info for all selected photos.
  • Now type a keyword "FacesSlideshow" or similar into the field where the keywords are shown.
  • Repeat, until all photos have been tagged with keywords.
  • Now create a new smart album "File > New Smart Album" with a rule "Keyword is FacesSlideshow"

This smart album will show you all photos used in the slideshow.User uploaded file

Adding additional photos always puts them at the end of the thumbnail tray. If you want to add addtional photos and have them in chronological order do the following in creating the slideshow:

1 - assemble the photos in an album sorted by date with oldest first.

2 - select all the photos in the album (Command+A) and create a slideshow via the File ➙ Create Slideshow... menu option.

3 - add additional photos, resort and create a new slideshow. 😟

Only the Classic and Ken Burns themes will keep the photos in the order you have them during import into the slideshow. Other themes will move some around to fit their unique photo layout.

Tell Apple what missing features you'd like restored or new features added in Photos via https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html.

Thanks OT!

Of course - I have to put them into an album first, then make the slideshow. One more Q - I would take a lot of time to reselect the relevant pictures from the "faces-album" and my tedious manual selection. Do you know a way of moving pictures from a slideshow to an album? If not, I guess I have to tell Apple this is my missing feature for the moment 🙂
