iTunes asking for verification code for payment method. Where do I find the verification code for my payment

My son is trying to purchase music on ITunes. iTunes asks for a verification code for my payment method. Where do I get this?

iPhone 6, iOS 10.3.1

This is probably referring to the CCV on your credit/debit card... thats the 3-digit number thats usually on the back next to your signature. Contact your bank if you can't find it.
