When trying to load a video from itunes librarty to the ipod, we get this message: "..." was not copied to ipod because it cannot be played on this ipod." What does this mean and how do I fix it? The video plays on itunes, it just won't load. Thanks.

Click the video you want to convert and drag it to your desktop. Open MPEG streamclip and go to File>Open Files then select the video which should be on your desktop and select ok.

Once the video has loaded go to File> Export to MPEG 4. Where it says Compression click to the far right where there should be an iPod button then click Make MP4. After it's done converting drag the file onto iTunes and then update your iPod.

I've been having the same problem, not only don't I have audio, but I see the video screen, but it never changes, nothing actually plays. In iTunes, itself, the video plays without sound.

So, I go and download the MPEG Streamer that has been suggested. Quite easy to operate, although it took a VERY long time to convert a 4 minute music video and even longer to convert a 12 min. movie clip. I figured THANK GOODNESS, my son can finally watch his music videos/movies.

Well, I imported them (the new ones) to iTunes, dragged them to my son's iPod and voila, the same thing happened!! I'm so upset with this. So many sales people touted this as "so easy" to just load videos and play them. I disagree. Could it be that only the ones you actually purchase from iTunes will play on the iPod?? I hope not.

I must admit, I like my little cheap mp3 player much better. Of course I don't watch videos.

Anyway, any other suggestions that someone may have would be SO greatly appreciated. It's frustrating to spend so much money on something and it doesn't work. Thanks!!

Hi ,
The reason the video won't play on your iPod is it has to be in mp4 format . I use a free program I got off the internet called Jodix Free Video Ipod Converter. the web site is www.jodix.com. The video's are converted to mp4 format for you in one step.

I hope this helps,

I downloaded the jodix converter...but how do I get
the video from itunes to the converter?

When you open the vido converter click on the tab that says "Add Files". Then a new window will open and you click on the video file that is saved on your computer. Then you cick on a tab called "convert" and the viedo file should automatically be converted into mp4 format.

I hope this helps,

I can't seem to save the video anywhere that will
even allow me to convert. When I click on the name
of the file, I get the message: "cannot be
converted, no video stream" - what does this mean? I
have downloaded the codecs as specified by
jodix...still cannot convert the video. Help!!

Hi ,

The only thing I can suggest is try cotacting Jodix Technical support.

I am not sure how else to help,
