Xcode won't install

I'm running macOS Sierra on my MacBook Pro. I've been trying to install Xcode but Launchpad downloads something around 7 GB but I've been waiting for almost 12 hours and I've failed to install the latest version of Xcode. Xcode 6 works well on my Mac, but the latest version won't install. How can I install it?
