Can a charger from a 15 inch Macbook Pro be used on a 13 inch Macbook Pro?

My friend's laptop died and so I'm going to give her my old 13 inch macbook pro to use. However, I don't have a charger for it as I already gave the charger to my sister when hers broke.

Will my friend's charger from her 15 inch macbook pro work to charge the 13 inch macbook? And will it be safe to use it long term?

Thanks.

There is absolutely no reason why she should not use it, any magsafe can be used with any magsafe connected device, if it is smaller than the original charging will take longer, and if it is larger than original it will charge at the same rate as the original did. There is no chance of 'overcharging'

If it is a magsafe2 an adaptor (available from Apple) will be needed for plug conversion.
