EPSON WF-7620

I have installed the Epson Workforce WF-7620, and have been scanning documents from my MacBook Pro, usually from Word and Excel. I am not having problems with the scan, but with the output of the scan. A single page word document came out as a 1.1MB, and a single page color excel document came out as a 19.3MB document, needless to say outlook kicked both of these out when I tried to send them because of the file size it says. Is there a setting somewhere on my Mac or the printer that can resolve this issue? Thanks!

TJK,

Thanks, but this is after you scan the document and then attach it to Outlook, it blows a 34KB document up to a 19.3MB document. I don't have problem sending documents I pen, its when I receive documents and scan, or have to print something off sign and scan and send it back. Very frustrating!!

Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Scan > Open scanner > Show Details > Resolution > the minimum on mine is 100 DPI. The path/settings for yours might be different because it's a different scanner and OS, but look for something similar and see if that works for you.

Otherwise, I would think that has to be something in the actual WF's settings....

Sometimes you may be able to work around a difficult situation, in this

instance, if you could Print as PDF and then use that in Outlook email.

This may not be satisfactory at all, but I've had to do a few work arounds

with my Epson printers and HP in the past. ~ Usually a problem arrives if

or when good printers do not see quality driver upgrades for a later OS X.

Thanks, EPSON did give me a solution they have a scan portal with the new printer software, you can put it on your doc and scan directly from it. It reduce the size of the document from 19.3MB down to 226KB, I was using the Apple Preferences>Printers and Scanners, to scan for some reason it was blowing the documents that I printed then signed and scanned, off the chart. All good now hope this helps someone else. Really appreciate all the help!!

Open Word/Excel > File menu > Reduce file size...

Thanks I have tried that and it still after you scan blows it up. I am trying to get with EPSON now. Thanks for the help, but it still blows it up. It is one of the craziest things I have seen.
