App Store problems

Okay, so I put a iTunes card in my account, but it won't let me buy anything, it is brand new and not used, and it's denying my request because it's saying I don't have enough money, and going to the credit card information page. But I have enough in my account to buy the app. Can anyone help me?

How do you know that it is trying to charge your credit card? Has it been refused? Do you need to update any information about your card?

It seems if you are having an issue with updates, then there is an issue with your account.
