Apple watch 2 Japan version vs US version

Hello,

I am currently in Japan on an extended business trip. I am going to be here for another 2 month.

I want to buy the apple watch but I don't want to wait till I get back to the States.

Is there any disadvantages to purchasing the Japan version of the apple watch? I suspect warranty would be an issue if I needed it serviced. Are there any differences functionally?

For instance, you can't silence the shutter noise on a korean iphone even in silent mode.

Are there any differences on the apple watch?

Thank You.

Hi

There are no regional differences in hardware for Apple Watch and the software can be configured for different countries.

If one is included with your chosen model, the supplied USB Power Adapter will have pins localised to Japan.

However, the watch can be charged in the US using an Apple USB Power Adapter for iPhone or iPad, using a travel adapter, by charging via USB or by purchasing a US power adapter as a separate accessory:

The warranty terms applying to the Apple Watch would be those for Japan. You would need to check with Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider to establish whether hardware service would be available to you under warranty in the US:
