iPad 2 operating system update

I have an ipad2 running iOS 9.3.5 - lasted version I can get via the software update tool. I want to install the Dashlane password application, but it requires iOS 10.0. Can my iPad OS be upgraded to version 10.0; if so, how can I do it?

If you need apps for iPad 2 that need a higher iOS version than your iPad 2 can support, you can try to download the latest app from the iOS App Store and if the developer has left an older, compatible version on Apple's app servers, then you will receive a small window pop-up prompt that states that there is an older version of the app that is compatible with your device. Would you like to download this version now.

Tap the OK button just below the prompt.

The iPad 2 cannot be updates past iOS 9.3.5

You may be able to get a compatible version of the App for 9.3.5 if one is available by downloading it to iTunes on a computer first, and then following the steps in this support document:

Install an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support

Note, that this method will very likely stop working in the near future.
