itunes freezes constantly

Hello, I have been dealing with Itunes freezing every time I try to use it, It will load and once everything is loaded, Itunes will freeze. No warning messages or errors stating anything is wrong, normally ends with me Ctrl-Alt-DEL just to close Itunes. I have uninstalled and deleted all folders that deal with Apple software and I have had no luck figuring out what is wrong, can anyone help?

Hello tgard04,

Thanks for keeping us updated. Since iTunes still crashes even when you start iTunes in Safe Mode and you have deleted different folders, this makes me think we need to further isolate the cause. Another thing you can do is to create a new user account and launch iTunes in a new user and see if the issue persists. If it does it would be a system wide issue and there are steps to follow for that scenario.

Visit the Microsoft website to learn how to create new user accounts for Windows 10, Windows 8, or Windows 7.

System-wide issues

  1. Check for potentially unwanted programs. Harmful software might prevent iTunes from opening or cause it to quit unexpectedly. Make sure that your security software is up-to-date and scan your system.
  2. Try adjusting your security software's settings. Learn more about how to resolve security software issues.
  3. Make sure that iTunes is installed correctly. An improper installation of iTunes can contribute to a variety of issues. Learn how to reinstall iTunes.
  4. Update the drivers on your PC. Outdated drivers on your computer can cause iTunes and other applications to behave strangely. Learn how to update the drivers on your computer.

Fix unexpected quits or launch issues in iTunes for Windows

Hey tgard04,

If I understand correctly, iTunes will stop responding when you try to use it. It looks like you have already uninstalled iTunes. I would recommend you read these articles and use them to help troubleshoot the issue. These articles will help to make sure all the components are removed correctly and how to isolate what can be causing iTunes to freeze once it is loaded.

When you open iTunes in Safe Mode, you isolate the program from any interference caused by plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple. To start iTunes in safe mode, hold down the Shift and Control keys on your keyboard while you open iTunes.

You'll see a message as iTunes is starting that says "iTunes is running in Safe Mode. Visual plug-ins you have installed have been temporarily disabled."

If the issue doesn't happen in Safe Mode, remove any third-party plug-ins.

Don't uninstall these components in a different order, or only uninstall some of them. Doing so might have unintended effects. After you uninstall a component, you might be prompted to restart your computer. Wait to restart your computer until you're finished removing all of the components.

Thank you for responding, I am still having the same issue, iTunes is unusable for me, I have used the guides and yet it still finds my library even after I have gone through my computer and deleted ever folder labels in the guides and named Apple and still no luck. iTunes freezes when it is in safe mode as well. I need to get this to work because I would like to upgrade my phone and I need to sync beforehand
