Is it my imagination, or is Apple moving away from itunes, and plugging Apple Music? If so, Apple, our family will be saying good bye. As avid music lovers, ipod/ ipad, was away to have our music with all the time, Apple Music - does not replace the "ownership" of an iTunes library. When you buy specific artists you go back to them over time, and maintain a relationship with them, and often re-discover them. Apple Music is nothing but personalised radio. No thanks Apple - if this is your direction - we will be replacing apple product and going down different routes. If anything -- the direction you should have gone was bigger storage. smaller space.

I believe it is your imagination. While they do suggest Apple Music, I have my iTunes library on my computer, it is synced to my iPhone 7 and iPad Mini 4, and I can add music to it all I want, and once Apple Music was introduced and I refused it, I've not seen anything about it since, except advertisements.

It's your imagination. Apple Music is a service that you can choose to subscribe to or you can choose to not use. I choose to not use it. I still use iTunes for my Music Library, and will continue to do so. Since it is a streaming service it is not for everyone, and it does not replace an iTunes Library under any circumstances.

People who use Apple Music still have iTunes Libraries. They simply do not use that Library for streaming their music - they use iCloud Music Library, but they also continue to use the iTunes Library for purchased music. So, that part hasn't changed.

But there is no imperative for you to use Apple Music or iCloud Music Library. It is strictly your choice.

Definitely your imagination.

There has been absolutely no change to the way music syncs or is transferred to iOS devices if you are not subscribed to Apple Music.

It continues to work exactly the same as it always has. Apple Music does not replace your library in any way. It enhances it if you choose to subscribe to it, but nothing is forcing you to.

You can continue to buy tracks from iTunes and use iTunes in exactly the same way to maintain a local library completely unrelated to Apple Music if you do not want to use it.
