How do I Add Dell E525w wireless printer to MacBook Pro?

I inserted disc that came with Dell printer, but all that installed was software....I can't find the dell printer drivers on my computer. I have Macbook pro running Mac OS Sierra Version 10.12.4 I have tried downloading drivers from Dell website, but get the same software as I did from the disc....that is, software is downloaded, but again I see no drivers. Printer is not being recognized on my Mac or at least I can't find it. Help?

Hi,

Make sure your MBP is connected to your router (easiest way is just try connecting to to an Internet site) > turn printer on > open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > click on the plus sign to add your printer.

Ok I'm a novice....I got that far, but then what is the address? In Protocol do I leave it as IPP? What is Queue?

Under Name, Do I just type in Dell E525w printer?

What is location?

My computer is set up for the wireless router, but do I need to set up the printer to the router too?

Yes....there are blank spaces....no printer is listed.

Thanks. My problem was that I didn't first connect the printer to my router.....duh! Once that was done, my Mac recognized the printer. Wireless printer now up and running.
