Should we use the 2 pin connector or the 3 pin one?

I have a 13" mid 2015 macbook pro, and I have been wondering, what plug should we use? Apple gives us both 2 pin plug and 3 pin power cord. Every one I know uses the 2 pin plug. But which one should we use for a country like India. And why does apple give us two?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), macOS Sierra (10.12.4)

If the receptacle has three prongs, always use the three prong adapter as it offers ground protection as has already been noted.

Because in some places (usually older) there may not be a three prong receptacle.
