0 KB Available Error???

Got a new Gen2 Nano for Xmas. It doesn't show up in iTunes device list but is recognized by Windows. I've tried the 5 Rs, changed drive designation, restarted the service, rebooted. Done everything that I can find to do. I've tried the Nano on another computer that works with my son's 60GB iPod and it doesn't recognize the Nano either.

One odd thing I've noticed is that the Nano says it has a 3.6 GB capacity but 0 KB is available. Since I've not successfully synched and nothing is on the Nano this is making me think that the Nano has a memory problem. I ran the diagnostics in iTunes and as far as I can tell, nothing bad was reported.

Should I be seeing 0 KB available on a brand new Nano? What to do next? Thanks!

Hi. Thanks for responding, btabz. Yes, the Nano About > Settings is where it says I have 0 KB available. Does that make any sense at all to you? Does a brand new Nano that's never been synched always show 0KB available? I would assume that it should show 3.6GB available since that's the capacity.

I've already visited the link and tried the various recommendations to no avail, but I welcome other suggestions.
