Write Review on iPhone App Store (iOS 10.1.1)

Hi Team,

I am unable to submit the review from iPhone App Store, below are the steps i have followed :

1. Open AppStore

2. Search for the App which i have installed

3. Tap on "Reviews" tab

4. Select "Write Review" button

5. I see a screen to choose stars, enter title and description.

6. After entering the relevant information, i hit on "Send" button.

7. The "Write Review Screen" simply disappears.

Expected Result:

1. I should see some confirmation as my Review is submitted.

Actual Result:

1. I don't see any confirmation alert.

2. Screen disappears.

3. If i Tap "Write Review" again it shows all my old text what i have written, looks like as if its not submitted.

This is my friends App, he has logged into iTunes Connect portal to see if the review is showing up on his App Portal, he can't even see the review as submitted.

It's an issue with the nickname. I just trouble-shooted this issue with co-workers who were'n't able to write reviews on their iPhones or iPads.

If you try to write a review from your iOS device and your nickname has already been taken, your device does not tell you that. The work-around I figured out, is to launch iTunes on your desktop. Add 'Apps' (screen shot below) to the drop down menu (select Edit Menu) if they don't show up along with Music, TV Shows, Podcasts, etc.

Select Apps, then search for your app in the Search bar at the top of iTunes. When you find your app, click on it and then click on 'Ratings and Reviews'. Then click 'Write a Review'. If your nickname has been taken, it will show you that and all you have to do is create a new nickname and then submit your review.

Nice find, but this is no work-around!! I have tried to leave reviews for a number of apps on my iPhone with no success. As a developer, I have also asked some family and friends to check out my game and leave a review/rating, and the large majority of them that cannot successfully post their review or rating. What point is there in only allowing Mac laptop/computer users to leave reviews through iTunes when the app is only available on iPhones and iPads?

I have seen this complaint on numerous forums for years and have yet to see a viable solution for iPhone/iPad users, which is incredibly lame. C'mon Apple - get your act together on this!!

Hello,

I had a similar issue to this. Every time I would attempt to leave a review, I was unable to. I would give a certain amount of stars, put in a title, and a description. When I hit the ‘send’ button, I got a text box that came up and said, ‘Enter a nickname’. I typed in two different nicknames, and hit send. Both times that I attempted this, the box would close but the review would stay up.

I closed the App Store and reopened it, then typed in my review again. When I did it the third time, I used another nickname, and was able to finally submit it. After I pressed send, the review closed and it gave me a confirmation that said my review had been submitted.

Hope this helps!
