Whatsapp taking up 20GB of my iCloud back up space

I don't mean device storage. As of now Whatsapp is using only 2GB of iPhone storage which is fine by me for now.

But Whatsapp is taking up 20GB of my iCloud back up space. How's that possible?

Can I remove that backup and if I do what's going to happen?

P.S. I

subscribed for the 50GB iCloud storage so I can store stuffs online.

Open WhatsApp, click Settings in the bottom right, select Chats, select Chat Backup and turn Auto Backup to Off. If you do want to backup look to see if you have Include Videos selected.

Once you are done there go to the iPhone Settings then General then Storage & iCloud Usage. Under iCloud select Manage Storage. Select WhatsApp under Documents & Data, click Edit and then you should see the option to Delete All.
