can't sync new iPhone 7 with iTunes 12

Not sure what you mean by download iTunes to new iPhone 7.

If you want to download latest iTunes (12.6) to PC or Mac try updating it through Help -> check for updates or iTunes -> check for update.

Once you update the iTunes to latest version you should be able to sync your iPhone.

If above steps doesn't work click below link to download iTunes for your computer.

I you are using old Mac computer you need to update it to new Mac OS (Sierra) to update iTunes to 12.6

iTunes is an application for Windows and Mac, not for the iPhone. You need to install iTunes 12.6 on your computer. It needs Windows 7 or later, or Mac OS 10. 9.5 or later.
