AFTER IMPORT, PHOTOS NOT DELETED FROM CAMERA

IMPORTING PHOTOS FROM MY SONY A6000 AND CHECKING THE "DELETE AFTER IMPORT" BOX, PHOTOS ON THE CAMERA ARE NOT BEING DELETED. THIS HAS ALWAYS WORKED ON MY CANON AND NIKON CAMERAS IN THE PAST BUT NOT ON THIS SONY CAMERA. IDEAS? OR MAYBE HOW TO SUBMIT A BUG REPORT?

Thanks, léonie, I have already checked and verified that Copy items to Photos Library is checked. I also unchecked it, quit Photos, restarted Photos, rechecked that option, quit and restarted Photos, verified it is set to Copy, and still new images remain undeleted after Import. And yes, I am checking the Delete after Import box.

I suspect it is something in the driver for the Sony Alpha cameras that is preventing Photos from deleting images from the camera as that option still works on my Canon camera. Any guidance on how I submit a bug report to Apple on this?

Have you checked, if the photos have been imported to Photos as managed photos? If Photos is referencing them on the card, you must not delete them from the card, or they are gone forever.

Check the Photos > Preferences > General: Importing. Is it set to "Copy items to the Photos Library" or is this option disabled ?

If the option has been disabled, You need to consolidate the photos from the card into the Photos Library, before you can erase the card.

You can send a bug report using the feedback form: https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html

Or, if you have a developer account or are willing to go to the truoble to apply for a free developer account, you can give a detailted bug report using the bug reporter, see: Detailed and Effective Bug Reporting | Apple Support Communities

If it is the camera, contact Canon with a bug report as well.

For my Canon EOS 5D Mark II the import is also not working well, when I am importing directly from the camera. The results are more reliable, when I take the card out and use a card reader.
