VB Script error

When installing the newest version of iTunes I get the following error and installation won't complete.
"iTunes could not be installed because VBScript is not installed or has been disabled. Make sure VBScript is installed, turn off script blocking in anit-virus and personal firewall software, re-register VBScript, and then install iTunes". I have tried just about everything with no success.
Can anyone help?

really? EVERYTHING? Did you try sacrificing a white rat on a jade altar to Xerxes?

It would be helpful if you actually listed what you tried to fix it, instead of expecting us to know what you tried.

Did you try installing the latest version of Windows Scripting Host?

Did you search google?

Is your Windows XP the 64-bit edition?

I did the following...

I went online and searched for the most recent version of VBScript, and found it on Windows site. This is where I downloaded it from.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=C717D943 -7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA

After that still didn't work, along with restarting my computer, I searched for Windows updates, and found nothing new needed to be installed.

Neither my antivirus program, nor my firewall is blocking VBScript, and I can't even seem to find the location where VBScript was installed.

By the way, I tried following these solution steps,
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304405

and I got the message:

DllRegisterServer in C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbscript.dll failed.
Return code was: 0x80004005
