Hi,
Try enabling TRIM (don't remember where I got this, so credit to whomever originally wrote it):
To enable TRIM, first save all your open documents as this will reboot your Mac.
1) launch Terminal.
2) Type "sudo trimforce enable".
3) Confirm that you want to enable trim.
4) Reboot your Mac.
To verify that TRIM is enabled, click the Apple icon in the top left of your screen. Choose "About this Mac" -> "System Report" -> "SATA/SATA Express" and look for the entry "Trim Support". It should say "yes" if trim has been enabled.
If no luck, contact Crucial.
The last time I communicated with Crucial, they did not recommend TRIM but relied on Garbage Collection. Go to System Preferences>Energy Saver and make certain that 'Put hard disks to sleep when possible' is UNCHECKED.
In addition, see if you have the latest firmware for the SSD.
Ciao.
It is not uncommon to have an SSD go bad. I have had many SSD's go bad in OSX.
That Crucial MX300 has a 3 year warranty. Just contact crucial and RMA it.
Do get a Samsung Evo. You are better off with a Crucial MX200 or MX300 or OWC SSD.
My bad, didn't notice it. Time for contacting Crucial.
there's no new firmware for this ssd if using mac os...except windows..'Put hard disks to sleep when possible' is UNCHECKED..did that long time already...
