I No longer use a lot of apps i have installed and would like to know if they can be uninstalled. If so, how to I do it?

No. Once deleted as explained above they are gone from your iPad and are not using any space on it. Removing them from the home screen uninstalls them entirely from the iPad.
They are available to redownload from the App Store if you need them in the future but they don't take up space in your iCloud either.
Touch and hold an icon of an application you wish to remove. Eventually, you should see the icon wiggle. Click on the "X" in the upper left corner to remove the application. Click the home button after to end the wiggling.
Yes, you can uninstall apps. With the iPhone 6s, if you are using 3D Touch, it is a little more difficult to do, but still doable. When you locate the app that you wish to delete, touch your finger gently on the app icon and hold it there until the app icon starts to wiggle. Lift your finger and you should see an ✖ in the corner of the app. Tap it and it should delete the app.
I Knew that would take them off my home page, but on the app store it still shows them stored on the cloud and can be downloaded.. so are they still using up storage on my iPad? I only have 16G on my phone and it is almost full. I have taken off a lot of pictures, and it really didn't change that much..
I guess that the reason I wonder is that you could always uninstall them on Google Play on my android phone..
