So the USB on the new Macbook, etc, does not have a regular USB port?
All my pics, documents, and conference materials are on USBs. I can't understand why the new macbook doesn't have a regular USB. I'm sure I'm not the only one upset... How awful that I have to buy an accessory if I want to access info from a USB.

We are just other users & cannot alter how Apple make their devices.
There are other Mac models that have USB A ports but you should consider that future devices will move to USBC so there may be value in updating your external devices. Otherwise look at alternate manufacturers if Apple do not meet your needs.
Why would anybody be "upset"? Surely everyone is aware of the specifications of the computer they buy, and realize the newer Macs have USB-C ports.
To accommodate your USB peripherals, all you need is an adapter.

I spent over $2000 on a new MacBook Pro. You're darned skippy I checked out every feature before I parted with that much money. It would have been downright foolish to have done otherwise. And then I bought to USB-C to USB adapters while Apple had them on sale.

I did as well. And I purchased a USB-C to lightning adapter for my iOS devices as well.

Ha! No, that was the 13". I just got the some of the extras. I bought my last computer, my 11" MBA in 2011. I figure I'll probably keep this one that long as well so I did what future-proofing I could.
Well I still have the entire stock from the production company, but I prefer the old ones. An Apple update seemed to kill the 13" so I repatriated the 15 from the UK to here, en-route Apple released another similarly named update and the 13 was revived (it's a miracle) but the 15 arrived and I preferred it over the 13 because of all that screen (my eyes are not what they once were).
Must make a note to sell the new ones now that they are not needed on the flight. 🙂
And I agree about the keyboard, the old ones are quieter.
I recently made the giant leap from my 2009 13" to my 2012 15" I am happy to say that nothing changed (except that it is bigger and faster and heavier) 🙂 🙂 😟
Mostly, I'm enjoying the new MBP. The MBA was getting very wheezy. What I'm not crazy about is the keyboard. It seems very loud compared to the MBA.
