"Cannot create the disc because the duration is too long"
Hello,
I am attempting to create a DVD-version of an admittedly large project, totaling approximately 6 hours and 45 minutes in length. While heavy in duration, the project is not especially dense with information, and, sure enough, while first attempting to create a DVD in Compressor I found that the final disk image would be approximately 7 GB in size - small enough to fit on a DL disc, which I formatted it for. After creating the Disk Image, I attempted to burn the DVD, and after - successfully, according to my mac - completing the burn, tried the new DVD out on both the mac itself and my two DVD players (one a DVD player, the other blu-ray). In none would the DVD open - indeed, in the mac, it would make "loading sounds" for a few minutes, then automatically eject the DVD, never once registering it on my finder.
Trying to get to the root of the problem, I attempted to burn the DVD from Final Cut Pro X itself, but am unable to do so, for on the share DVD screen itself I receive the message (on a red exclamation point notice in the bottom-left corner) "Cannot create the disc because the duration is too long." Even so, the estimated size of the DVD is still just a bit under 7 GB, and I am using DVD+R DL discs, which my Mac says it is capable of burning. I do not wish to split up the film into two DVDs - is there then another way around this problem?
Thank you for your help.
