Apple mail can't login in to Microsoft mail?

Sierra mail app can't login to Microsoft mail service to retrieve my Hotmail?

It is not accepting my password ?

Used default email account setup method and worked for a while.

Now it stopped working.

Is there a problem between Sierra email app and Microsoft email servers authentication process?

Microsoft mail works fine on my iPhone and MS-Windows computers.

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12), Mid-2012, 13", 16gb ram, 500gb. SSD

It could be you have turned on or Microsoft have turned on 'two-factor authentication' for your HotMail account. Since the Apple Mail program cannot do this you need to generate an 'app specific' password that will be unique to Apple Mail logging in to your HotMail account.

Note: The above refers to Outlook.com email rather than HotMail.com email but these two are effectively the same system and the same steps should apply equally to Hotmail.com
