How do I 'refresh' the stock price in my numbers spreadsheet the I used the STOCK function in a cell?

I've created a Numbers spreadsheet using the STOCK function 2 days ago. Now how do I get today's, the current' price in the cell? In other words how do I 'refresh' the spreadsheet to pull the current stock price?

Thanks,

Rick

Yes I can make a change and it pulls the new data. I found post on adding a checkbox to NUMBERS but I don't see the checkbox icon on the toolbar. Any help on how to add a checkbox would be helpful.

A checkbox in Numbers is a data format. Select a cell, and in the format panel at the right:

I think that may do the trick and force STOCK to refresh (though I haven't been able to test here).

Got that, thanks. I guess checkbox is one word in help. That seems a bit hokey compared to Excel's F9. Although I don't think it always refreshed, pulls new data. Even when I close and reopen it doesn't match what E-Trade says. Oh well I learned something. It's not a full blown financial online site anyway. Thanks

I understand the data comes from Yahoo! Finance. Not the same as an online broker, but really convenient, a welcome addition to Numbers.

Numbers, unlike Excel, doesn't have the option to turn off calculation and turn it back on again, or 'calculate now'.

Some 'volatile' functions, such as RAND and RANDBETWEEN and OFFSET and others, recalculate whenever a change is made. I'm guessing STOCK is similar (though in brief testing it sometimes seems to refresh when I don't make a change and doesn't seem to update sometimes when I do make a change).

Glad it's working on your end, and thanks for the green tick!
