itunes karaoke music disappeared May 2017

Around May 1, 2017, the iTunes Music Store removed searching for backing tracks (karaoke) directly within the search box in the upper right corner of their app. Below are a list of web links to the most popular karaoke labels available on iTunes. Their music is still available for purchase in the iTunes Store, but use these links to find a label, locate a desired song title and connect to the iTunes Music Store to purchase. Apple and iTunes no longer want to promote the sale of karaoke through their own search box.

Thanks Jeff, those links will be helpful. However, buyers should be aware that the songs at those links are not literally karaoke tracks, only instrumental backing tracks in AAC audio format, and do not have lyrics..

Jeff,

As you correctly point out, the karaoke tracks do not show up in search, but are still in the Store. This appears to have been a decision by the iTunes Store, for unspecified reasons.

At Amazon Digital Music, the search term "karaoke" turns up hundreds of pages of tracks. However, just as in the iTunes Store, they are instrumental backing tracks, not actual karaoke tracks with scrolling lyrics.

Yes, I agree that they are 'backing tracks'. I added the term karaoke after it as in actuality, karaoke means 'empty orchestra' (no vocal), but we all consider scrolling lyrics to be karaoke.
