/Users/Shared/adi - Time Machine
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), macOS Sierra (10.12.4)
It is a shame that the "solved" answer to your original question is non-responsive. Apple should correct this, or add a function that allows users to downgrade poor answers.
But the real question should be can someone safely include the "Users/shared/adi" directory into a TimeMachine backup by removing from "excluded items"
It is used in conjunction with iBooks and the Mac App Store, and its presence is normal. Do not alter it.
OK I believe you but why is it excluded from backup in Time Machine? I have a new MacBook 2017 that I just received and it is excluded from Time Machine Backup? I did not exclude it, it was already there when I set up Time Machine for my first backup.
OK but it does not appear on my Mac mini Time Machine Options, I was just curious.
Who knows, maybe it will disappear with High Sierra this fall. The mystery continues.
Thanks for your response,
Roger
Likely a file that is dynamic and is updated by a online connection and does not need backing up.
As suggested, don't try to outguess Time Machine.
