I use the 8mm app for iPhone regularly - however I have some foot get of between 3 and 5 minutes in length . my mac laptop can't see it so I can't transfer it for editing. it has always recognised it before but I think it is to do with the length of the footage - please help.!

I knew the mac wasn't the issue so dropped in a feasibly close one ...
I have already contacted the app company - no reply as yet which is why I went to community
It's fine now as
I refilmed and made them shorter by splitting into two
Not ideal but until the reply comes from the app people ..........

10.9.5 is not the same as 10.5. But that is no matter.
http://8mm.mobi/ is the company that makes the App in question, they may have advice on getting the data to transfer.
