How can I connect ipad to samsung smart tv

HI, I am able to connect my iPad4 to my Samsung Smart tv with an app called "Smart View" and can view photos and video that has ben installed on the iPad itself. But what I would like to do is to stream video from Safari onto my tv from the iPad. is that possible with an app or do I have to purchase additional hardware such as Apple TV or adaptor/HDMI?

You can buy the lightening to HDMI adapter and plug the iPad into the tv. Or you can buy a HDMI transmitter & receiver to stream wireless (you would still need the lightening to hdmi adapter to plug the transmitter into the iPad). IOGear sells some inexpensive ones in Amazon and elsewhere. I have the IOGear GWHD11 kit and it will wirelessly mirror anything shown on my iPad or iPhone screen (or laptop, Mac or Windows) to my large screen tv.
