Smart Keyboard Caps Lock changes keyboard language

When using Notes or Pages on the iPad Pro with the Smart Keyboard the Caps Lock continues to changes keyboard language. Tested this on more than one iPad Pro using the same Smart Keyboard with the same results. In addition to the English keyboard, both iPads both have additional keyboards installed. Submitted new feedback with Apple support and reviewed previous related Apple Discussions on this topic from September 2016 and the problem started with iOS 10. Subsequent iOS updates have not resolve this issue.

I also had the same problem with my Smart Keyboard which I gotten today. And I managed to fixed it but going to - Settings -> General -> Hardware Keyboard -> turn off "Caps Lock Switch to/from Latin"

And the Cap Lock key on my Smart Keyboard works fine. Hope that help you too.

A visit to the Ginza Apple Store Genius resulted in confirming that an iPad Pro and Smart Keyboard from the Apple Store and my iPad Pro both produced the same results with the Caps Lock changing keyboards. We interchanged both devices, confirmed the problem, and the Genius scratched his head and started searching the internet.

The result was a solution. iOS 10 changed or added a default setting for Caps Lock Switch to/from Latin to "On". As a result the Caps Lock switched keyboards. Screen capture included. Turning this setting off resolved the problem.

I could not product the other quirk text issues with typing. It seems to be working well with iOS 10.3.2.

Well that did not work for me - iPad Pro is new and up to date and so is the magic keyboard. What did work is go to settings: general: keyboard, edit languages and remove everything except English. THAT DID WORK!!!!!

Clearly it is a flaw that needs to be fixed. For me, I rarely use emojis and if I want another language - well it will be a pain to go back and put it in.

I’m on iOS 11.1.1. While this fix does work for the Smart Keyboard, I have the same issue with the onscreen keyboard. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a similar Switch On/Off Latin in the Settings for this.

My mini doesn't have a caps lock on the screen keyboard. But I guess some larger iPads do?

Yes, on the iPad Pro. The only fix is to remove any other languages and any other keyboards (except emoji). I have the need to switch to Arabic on occasion, but if I add the keyboard, the Caps Lock becomes a keyboard switcher. If I remove it, it becomes Caps Lock again.
