Michelle you are a God Send, first thank you for your patience with me I misunderstood in part what I was looking at although it did say bluetooth on box as well but a techifriend helped me sort this out it is now working the key thing you can't show in pictures that needs to be in their less than quality directions for a fantastic product is that wireless is your sync tool as you mentioned but while using this you can't use your internet connection which I am fine with as I use my ipad for my knitting/crocheting patterns which gives me on the go access I just have to always keep it charged.

I went through so much needless frustration because of pictures being used instead of words. Pictures are fine for showing how to set up a computer with wiring but this needed words not used honestly it was a nightmare...but as in the old gi joe commercials knowing is half the battle.

Thank you to everyone who helped me.

Very appreciated

How "new" is this Bluetooth drive?

Also, typically, mobile drives for iDevices and iOS usually connect over Wifi via bulit-in Wifi hotspot in the mobile drive, itself.

Wireless drive DO NOT usually pair using Bluetooth.

If this drive uses Bluetooth, instead of Wifi to connect,

If you have an old iPad 2 (2nd generation) it uses a much older Bluetooth spec which may not be compatible with devices that use a newer Bluetooth spec or is NOT made compatible for older Bluetooth spec devices.

I never heard of mobile storage drives connecting over a Bluetooth connection.

Make sure that this drive uses WiFi instead of Bluetooth.

Maybe this is why the drive isn't pairing correctly.

Brand new yes it did say it was compatible with mac and ios it didn't specify what versions this is maddening, the only upside is if I can get my hands on a laptop at least then I can use it with that but it's so frustrating my daughter bought this for me for Mother's Day and it didn't say for example for use with ipad 4 and newer or anything like that is there any real way of knowing other than guessing if this will ever work on my ipad or not?

I was finished yet, when I hit reply by accident.
