Panic call on boot. Boots ok on 2nd attempt

Hi All'

I'm having problems with starting my Mac. When first turned on it gets to the white screen then stalls with then following messages:

I then shut it down by holding the power button. I turn it on again and it boots normally. Ideas please on what to do about this. My system details:

iMac 27-inch, Late 2012; Processor 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i5

Memory 24GB; Storage 3TB fusion drive

OS Sierra 10.12.4
