ios 10.3.2 Can't Delete Safari Website Data

Just updated to iOS 10.3.2 on my iPhone 6S and still can not fully clear out website data. Right after the update installed the website data cache was cleared. However as an experiment I went to weather.com and sure enough there was an entry by them in my website data. After numerous attempted to delete this it refuses to clear. This has been an ongoing problem (happens on many websites and there are many complaints) which I was hoping would be addressed in this update, but I guess not. At this point the security of Safari is questionable and I will no longer be using it.

I'm disappointed that Apple has allowed this bug to remain for so long. At a minimum formerly acknowledge it because I still question weather the operating system has been compromised and it's being kept quite.

Hi, I do not know if you've already tried this

1. settings> safari> advanced (on the bottom)> website data> remove all website data

2. If you want a Specific site do this: settings> safari> advanced (at the bottom)> website data> show all sites> Edit and then select all the websites you want to leave

3. clear all browser history: settings> safari> clear history and website data

Hope this was helpfull🙂

I had hoped iOS 10.3.2 would resolve this issue, but like you I found it did not. After the OS upgrade, it did initially clear out all of the website data except Google. Trying then still would not delete google.com. Now, I have two more websites to add (EBay and Niteize) to Google.com. I suspect there will be more with 0 data and the website name remaining. I am concerned about security too. As I understand, these website names are cookies, which imparts tracking. I have tried changing multiple settings, and none resolve this problem. Apple should either fix the problem or announce publicly that it does not intend to fix it.

A couple of days ago I contacted Apple directly about this increasingly annoying issue. All they would say is that they were aware of the issue already and that they were working on fixing it. Hopefully in the new update 10.3.3 it will be fixed. My cookie list is miles long! It sounds like the update is coming out soon, not exactly sure when.

This didn't work. Had the same problem on my 2013 iPad mini - spent hours trying to resolve this including with "senior European support" - everything tried, right through to restore from new..... ! Gave up and at a time when no software update was any longer available for that mini, decided a few weeks ago to buy a new Apple - IPad. And, same problem again already of not being able to delete certain cookies by any means. It does not to my knowledge interfere with my using the iPad, but am distinctly not happy about not working - a bug that is not resolvable?

see earlier post "These are "Evercookies". Google evercookies or persistent cookies. These seem to be impossible to remove ( at the moment) once on your phone. That is, unless you do a 100% Reset and DO NOT restore from backup. If you do restore from BU it will introduce these cookies."

This issue affects macOS 10.2.6 too but for macOS there is a way to delete but not in iOS

No does not work.

Does not work for many others!

Why does it not work?. Seems it would be straight forward solution and yet IT DOES NOT WORK!

Guess there is a critical flaw in IOS that causes this to happen! Yea it works for most data from websites but not for me and these 2 sites: cheatsheet.com and autotraders.com.

Is this not going to be fixed by Apple until we have a SEVERE BREACH OF DATA ON THE IPHONE?

"evercookie" is not new and has been an issue for many years in iOS and MacOS (I encountered this in iPhone 5). I recently got the evercookie in Safari for macOS and had to delete many files as root in the safari and system directories. Is there a way to do this in iOS?

I am now keeping every snapshot of how the Apple Privacy Recommendations do not work. I will soon see if filing a complaint with the federal trade commission can help in assisting for the voice of the customer to be louder in relation to this privacy issue. Here is a link on how you can submit your concerns.https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov

2 years and 5 OS updates later, I have a 3 page cookie list. Nothing works to delete it... Web and phone Customer support is worthless. Reseting to factory works until you visit those sites agin. I'm throwing in the towel and going to Android. Sick of "Applexcuses", sick of everything being more expensive than it should be and done with forced obsolecence.

Bye Crapple, you won't be missed.

Timing is everything. This problem has persisted and has pushed me to about the same point. I only had 12 websites that I could never delete from Safari website data. Note that I said “had.” A week ago, I updated my iPhone 6s Plus to iOS 11.2.2. The first thing I checked was Safari website data in Settings>Safari>Advanced. It showed no websites remaining. I visited three problematic sites (dirtdevil.com, google.com, congress.gov), went to Advanced and was able to delete those websites. This problem has been resolved with iOS 11.2.2 on my iPhone. Also, I noticed the second hand on the clock icon was now working and my PDF app (PDF Expert) was no longer crashing and locking up the phone.
