I think you should tell him to stop using the phone. He could make a real mess of the phone if he doesn't know what he is doing.

You should practice with him when you get a chance. These teenagers can have a mind of their own.

I'd clear off any private stuff off the phone. Make the phone simple to use. I do not use a passcode. I rely on physical security.
