That's not fun at all, though I recently did it thinking that my video drivers were corrupt or something else but found out last week when running intensive video on my iMac it freezes the screen up but everything else works in a manner of speaking in the background. After doing a little research on the subject I found that Apple cheaped out on hardware on the iMac and gave me the Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200. It is causing the problems.
