where do I plug in my headphones to my MacBook pro

New MacBook pro

New iPhone 7

need to get a new dongle to get them to connect...

but what about my head phones?


I want to listen to a movie on my laptop and there is nowhere to plug in the headphones...

The posts from IdrisSeabright and me are a comment on the hyperbole in your post, not the content. It is far from "insanely frustrating" - it is a minor inconvenience, and, at least to me, it isn't even that. I'm sure everyone has 3.5 mm earphones kicking around - I have at least a dozen -, and even if you don't, they are under $10 from Radio Shack, Amazon, and many other retailers. I don't want to use my iPhone headset with either of my MacBooks or my iMac; they each have their own standard headset with a 3.5 mm plug, that they had long before the iPhone 7 came out. And I don't see the point of adding yet another adapter that will cost good money (and likely be at least as bulky as a wired headset) when I already have a solution that has worked for years.
