Hello,

Your photos are blurred or out of focus

If your photos are blurred, out of focus, or have dark spots, try these steps:

  1. Make sure that the camera lens is clean. If you need to clean the lens, use a microfiber cloth. If you see dirt or debris inside the lens, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.
  2. With iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone 6 Plus, a metallic case or magnetic lens could interfere with optical image stabilization. Try taking a picture without it, then compare the quality.
  3. To focus on a certain object or person, tap that object or person on the preview screen. You’ll see the screen pulse, or briefly go in and out of focus, as the camera adjusts. In photo mode, try to stay steady when you adjust the focus. If you move too far in any direction, the camera will automatically refocus to the center. In video mode, you can adjust the focus before you begin recording.

If you still have issues with the focus on your camera, contact Apple Support.

iPhone 6S Plus here, and having the issues of the camera shaking, and also having issues with it focusing on what I need it to focus on (I tap on the object to autofocus, and it never achieves focus, appears blurry). I think it started happening after the latest iOS update.

This issue ruined all my autoshow photos I took yesterday as well, since half of every photo I took seems blurry. Those photos are what prompted me to search up this issue and start to do tests that let me identify the behaviour above. Very disappointed. I'm trying a DFU FW restore right now to see if a complete software reinstall fixes this...

Unfortunately, the FW restore didnt work for me. I also did try putting a magnet to it but that didnt help in my case either. I have an appointment scheduled with the Apple Store to change it. $80 CAD for camera module replacement, which isnt so bad. I'm going to try to get it and my battery replaced at the same time to make it more worth it since the previous camera-only appointment fell through TWICE, since it was such a pain to get the time I wanted for same day repair with my nearest Apple Store (but that's another story of bad service...)

I have a 6s plus and my camera started vibrating uncontrollably every single time I open the camera. I can hear the camera rattling if I hold the phone to my ear. This is the OIS system going berserk. And a LOT of people obviously have the same problem but not a solution in sight!😒😡

Stupid solutions like erasing the phone and resetting the device aren't working. and YES the lens is wiped clean. 😑

And NO Im not going to stick a magnet on top of my phone screen.

I am having this same issue with my Iphone 6s+. Camera shaking uncontrollably. Can be temporarily fixed by tapping near the top right of the phone. I see they did a recall for the 6s but not the plus, but clearly many of us are having this problem and this is a widespread and known defect with this phone model. People can't use a phone without a working camera in this day and age.

iPhone 6s Plus with non focusing camera and uncontrollably shaky video when the phone is completely stationary. If I point it to the ceiling the shaking goes away. The lens is clean. It started happening after the update. Any word on when this will be added for a recall as well?? I depend on these videos and am losing precious memories as I travel around Europe with blurry pictures and nauseatingly shaky video.

For months, I had the same problem with back camera jitteriness plus out of focus photos. The problem devolved to increased jitteriness, then finally persistent waves across the the camera screen. Because my AppleCare policy had expired, Apple repair attempted to fix the camera hardware for $59, but was unsuccessful. Their solution was to give me a new 6s plus for the same price! The whole transaction was completed in 1 hour's time. Excellent! Couldn't ask for a better outcome.

Hello, I got the same issues for 2 weeks !

I see there is a replacement program for iPhone 6s+ primarily sold between September 2014 and January 2015. Mine was fabricated in 2016 according to the serial number, so I am not eligible to the program ... (checked on Apple’s website)

How could my 2016’s iPhone get these same issues and Apple can’t take it in charge ?!?
