Try this one out:
Without ever seeing the original and based on what I saw in the video, this is my approach to a similar (but not exactly the same) type of title effect.
The text defaults to Hopper Script (available to *all* users of Final Cut Pro). If you need to change the font, the text size, color, etc., use the Text inspector (3D options a available from there as well). The "Texture" (or so I gather - the "spots" in the background) was created from default material in Motion. A drop zone is always available and is filled with a default transparent PNG so as not to be visible until you decide to use it. All three of these layers parallel each other (they are part of the same animated group) and the animation parameter options affect all at once.
Here are the published parameters:

(some parameters reflect test usage - not defaults)
The intent of the Drop Zone is to use a custom image as a title "page", but you can use any media you like (like "b-roll", etc.) Pan and Scale are provided to help "arrange" drop zone media within its bounds.
Opacity affects the entire title, so you can fade in and fade out if you like (or need).
Direction In and Out determine how the title animates into and out of the frame. The default view is the Z angle axis. Zero degrees is due north. Positive degree values move clockwise (negative move couterclockwise). If you dial down the disclosure triangles, you can set how the text moves in any direction in 3D space (it is difficult to explain how the three axes work in conjunction with each other, so I recommend moving the playhead to about 15 frames from the beginning/end and watch how the text is effected on screen). Animate Opacity for text that moves backwards in space. You can get an assist with Scale Animation (which moves the title media further along the direction axes). Scale Animation was added to have text move "Front" far enough to go behind the "camera" view of the text.
You can set up how the text is rotated (again, in 3D space) with the Start and End ° parameters.
The Randomize parameters will ADD TO whatever other animation parameters you use. These parameters, if used, will be important when you need to change the length of this title in the storyline. Shortening the Title (default length: 5 seconds) will increase the speed of the time between the animation in and animation out, so you'll need to keep this in mind to slow down random motions for consistency (if required).
The last section is about the "spots" added to the title. You can set the number, arrangement, design your own random scalings (width/height [dial down the disclosure triangle]), and coloring pattern ("designer gradient" included).
This Title effect is a *SINGLE* effect. It is designed to be time adjustable. I do not believe in creating dozens of copies of the same effect with timing variations for the end user. The end user should be able to apply a title and adjust its length in the storyline according to need. I have a "thing" about cluttering up my effects with duplicates. The in and out animations will be constant from 1.5 seconds length and longer. 1.5 seconds was the shortest version of ProLyric that I saw in the demo video.
Blend Mode was not included in my version. Its inclusion increased render time fourfold. If you absolutely must use a blend mode, use the Compositing controls in the Video Inspector.
Hope this helps you out. Please let me know when you download it and what you think of it ("beta test" it for me). It will not be available (free) indefinitely.
