while browsing Safari a pop-up message appeared: Pegasus (Spyware) Activated

what does it mean?
how to react to this problem, I'm afraid to call this number or do any further actions.

I also just recieved a notice on my ipad that I had the Pegasus virus so I called the number listed. First lady was oriental, very hard to understand. She wanted info about my ipad then wanted me to install something. Well my device wouldn't install out. She transferred me t another person who said they woukd instal something for me but it would cost $100. I declined so then the person was agree & threatened me with the possibility of my ipad being open to more infection where anyone could get my personal info & banking info then said it would cost me $1,000 if I wait..At that point I realized this is probably a scam & hung up on them. I only use my ipad for games. Theres no personal info on it. They just wanted my money!
Total scam!!!!

That is a scam no different than an unsolicited phone call interrupting your dinner. Ignore it. Please read Phony "tech support" / "ransomware" popups and web pages.
