SCANGUARD, antivirus and speed improver, offered free on the site http://weblifeadvice.com/ an Advertorial by Scanguard claims it has gone viral in France, where I live; does anyone know is it OK for iMAC OSX version 10.9.5 ?
There are so many freeby scams on the web that I want to be sure before downloading anything offered free!

I'm not at all familiar with it nor could I find an offer of any kind on the site you mentioned, but I see on the Scanguard page that it's $49/year for up to three devices.
There are many examples of developers who spend far more on advertising than on customer support or development, included paying partners and users to give them rave reviews. I can no longer believe any advertising or product reviews these days.
Ignore it. The only Mac OS X anti-malware programs which should be trusted are MalwareBytes, EtreCheck, and ClamXav.

Total rubbish, Mac OS does not need ANY antivirus, cleaning or any other third party "maintenance" apps. If simply kept up-to-date and other wise left alone Mac OS should run reliably for years.
I've checked that out, and it should be called ScamGuard. It's junk. Bad enough, in fact, that Malwarebytes will detect it as a PUP (potentially unwanted program).
