NowPlayingTouchUI disables F4 Key

I have a Late 2016 MBPro 15" with touchbar. I reported an issue back in November 2016 and have been calling in periodically to see if the issue is getting resolved and am getting no where.

There has been 4 updates to Sierra since this point and the issue is still not resolved or even showing signs that it is being worked on. This is able to be duplicated and I have been told it was being sent up to the engineers back in January.

6 months and still no response.

Way to duplicate issue.

Open iTunes -> this calls a process NowPlayingTouchUI. (Or any program that opens NowPlayingTouchUI)

The F4 key no longer works. This can be with the touchbar or an external keyboard. The onscreen keyboard still works.

If you kill the process the F4 key begins to function again.

I have tried reinstalling Sierra. I can duplicate this issue with a fresh install with no other programs installed.

Any solutions?

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2016), macOS Sierra (10.12.5)
