Customer Service

I went through the steps and I placed the SIM from my current MetroPCS plan into the phone and it said MetroPCS on the top of the phone and then went away and went back to No Service. I never got the "congratulations your iphone has been unlocked" message. I try and put the MetroPCS sim into the phone and it still doesnt read it. Did I miss any steps? Do I just need to take it into Metro and have them work their magic?
