First only the volume was working on our Apple TV Remote to adjust our TV's volume. I figured out, through the support website, how to pair the device so now the remote works to switch between channels but the volume controls no longer work

Apple TV remote is designed to control volume out only; ATV doesn't have "channels" so the control doesn't have such functionality.

My remote always used to control our TV's volume. It was controlling the volume tonight right before I figured out how to reset the bluetooth. The issue before the volume control function stopped working was that the remote had become unpaired with the AppleTV. Then when I figured out how to pair the remote back to the Apple TV the volume control function stopped working. We could use the remote to switch between channels but it wouldn't control the volume any more.
BTW - Our Apple TV does have channels. We have the Hulu channel, Netflix
Channel, Discovery channel, etc, etc....Getting these channels is the whole purpose of the Apple TV ;0)
