Why does Find iPhone always log me out

Why do I constantly have to input my password when using Find iPhone? It used to keep me logged in all the time. I did just get new iPhone. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

I have to input my password every time I click on the app just to open Find iPhone. It used to keep me logged in ALL the time and I was never asked to input the password. Since I got my new iPhone, every time I go to check Find iPhone I have to input the password since it tells me that my previous session has expired and I need to log in again. I'm not sure if it's a setting that I'm not aware of. Thanks in advance for any help!

cloud22 is not mistaken winston. i used to love the fact that my findiphone was always "open for business". we have 9 apple devices and 3 children and they are constantly saying that they have lost their device(s).

using my iphone 6 i had always been able to just open the app ....IT WAS ALWAYS LOGGED IN!. however i did an ios update on the iphone and then it stopped having the app being permanently logged in and i had to keep logging in and entering my password ....its quite frustrating as i hv to do this 10 times a day 😟

OK, so Find My iPhone is not going to keep you logged in all of the time anymore. You can let Apple know that you don't like it: Apple - Feedback

Not sure at what point you were asked for a mobile number in relation to Find My Friends. According to the support document, when you sign into iCloud on your iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod), you are automatically logged into the Find My Friends app.

No, it doesn't play a sound, so to do that, you would have to use the Find My iPhone app.

Best of luck,

thanks for the info gail, appreciate it but i dont see how it is a solution for not having findiphone logged in permanently:

AUDIBLE SOUND?

just tested it with my phone and my wife's phone....yep its saying that her phone is at our address but thats not telling us much (its a 2 storey 4 bedroom house). what find iphone has is the ability to make a sound....does this app have the same feature? ie the ability to make a sound so that we can find the misplaced device?

NEED A MOBILE?

My 9 year old tried to set it up and it asked for his mobile phone number!

If this is meant to be fixing the findiphone family sharing hole that was made by restricting findiphone to only 15 minutes usage, its saying that the user needs to have a mobile phone ....not realistic for kids to have mobiles.

the ability of findiphone to make a sound is particularly relevant for lost non phones, ie ipods and ipads. Of course if someone already has a phone then its not as relevant as i can simply call the number and it rings ....hope that makes sense

gary
