Logic Pro X: is it possible to save/store favorite synth sounds???

Because Logic Pro X has so many synths (as pictured below) and each synth has hundreds of variations of sounds, is there a way to remember or store your favorites into a folder? I downloaded Logic Pro X's entire sound library, so in ESX24 for example, I have hundreds of choices for instrument sounds. Isn’t there a way to tag, mark, or save the ones you like most? I’d like to be able to save my favorite sounds from all my synths in one location. Rather than having to scroll through hundreds of choices. Thank you in advance for any help, advice, tips on this.

Of you course you can. Here are two ways

Plugin Preset

WHen you have the Plugin Window of a specific Plugin open, click on the Preset Menu and chose Save As. This saves the current setting as a Preset, a s so-called Plugin Preset. You can even go into the Finder an create folders and subfolders to organize them

Patch

While a Plugin Preset saves only the setting of that specific Plugin, you can use a Patch, which saves your entire Channel Strip (plus optional routing). This has the advantage that if you used Audio FX plugins on your Channel Strip to create that specific sound, they will also be saved.

Select the Track, open the Library (key command Y) and click on the Save button. Those Patches will be listed in the Library under "User Patches". Please keep in mind that a Patch doesn't indicate what Plugin you used (until you load the Patch).

Hope that helps

I looks like you learn the most important fact about Logic Pro X: "It is deep"

About the various settings of Plugins and Channel Strip Settings and Patches, make sure you understand their nested structure, so you can choose which type of settings you are using for your workflow. Here is a page from my book "Logic Pro X - How it Works" that illustrates that.
