Touch Bar Not Displaying/Working on Windows 10

I downloaded and installed windows 10 a few months ago to run games (steam and blizzard stuff) but have run into problems with its touch bar as of today around 9.

On OSX, the touch bar still functions normally without a hitch. But on windows it will not boot, and all I get is a blank black touch bar without any features. This means that I cannot use the escape key, any of the utility shortcuts (vol up/down, brightness, music controls) and also the function keys. It was also working as of yesterday, and didn't have any updates installed that I know of.

I've restarted about 6 times, one full shutdown, and switched between OSX and windows 2 times. The touchbar only works in OSX and doesn't work in Windows any more.

Is there anything that can be done other than reinstalling Windows 10 to fix this problem?

If it helps/ is pertinent I have two drivers which are getting warning symbols, I don't know exactly what that means. The drivers are both named Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode) and are both listed in Other Devices.

fyi - running Sierra 10.12.5

I am experiencing the same issue (similar to -> Re: MB pro 2016 with Touch Bar BootCamped w/Windows 10 - Touch Bar not showing anything in Windows 10): No Touch Bar in Windows 10.

I installed itunes in the windows 10 OS. I believe this is when the Touch Bar disappeared. I uninstalled iTunes, but the damage was done -> no Touch Bar.

I also now get the following message repeatedly:

User uploaded file

Also, The Windows10 Device Manager lists the following:

User uploaded file

Ideas on how to get the Touch Bar to work and stop the Boot Camp reboot message?

Hey anonymous,

I had this particular issue for months. Finally solved it by doing the following:

Gear required:

- USB-C to USB adapter (I used single adapter, not the multi port alternatives)

- Apple corded keyboard (I used the small version that does not have the 10-key)

  1. Boot into your Windows Bootcamp
  2. Attach USB-C -> USB adapter
  3. Plug Apple corded keyboard into adapter

Some drivers may install on the machine, but the touch bar showed up for me almost immediately. I wasn't even trying to solve this because I had completely given up! I simply needed an external keyboard for a moment and that is all I had available to me. From that moment, the touch bar has worked fine -- going on almost a month now with several reboots, accidentally power cuts (left it on, un-plugged whoops) and through several Windows 10 updates since.

Give it a shot, hope it helps everyone here.
