The big question is can I sync my old but good Apple A1121 Hi Fi to Airport Express / Airplay or other Wi Fi device before I spend 3 months trying to get something to work that never will .. Thank you in advance for your replies , Dave D and PS, Kathy does nag dave !

Apple's iPod Hi-Fi (A1121) does not use AirPlay nor a Wi-Fi connection for playing music. Instead, as you know, you just dock an iPod to it for that purpose.

Hmm. It may be possible that I was referring to another similar device. Apple has been known to provide a variety of these over the years with some of them being AirPlay-ready ... and by that, I mean that they would work with audio streaming over a wireless connection using the AirPlay protocol ... and even newer ones using either AirPlay or Bluetooth for streaming.
