Kernel task using about 300% CPU, fans at Max speed, no heat whatsoever.

Hello,I have a Macbook pro retina late 2012.

Woke it up from sleep this morning and realised that the fans were revving up at max speed so I checked activity monitor and so a process named kernel task was taken up all my cpu.This makes the Macbook extremely slow.Ran apple hardware test and it reported error code 4hdd/11/40000000:sata(0,0).

Guess its a faulty ssd but how does a faulty ssd cause all these problems.I'm really confused.What can i do?Someone pls help.

It may not be a problem with the SSD, rather with the connection to the SSD. To test, take out the SSD and connect it to the Mac via USB. Boot the Mac using startup manager and if successful, the odds are the SATA cable may be faulty.
