Kernel task using about 300% CPU, fans at Max speed, no heat whatsoever.

Hello,I have a Macbook pro retina late 2012.

Woke it up from sleep this morning and realised that the fans were revving up at max speed so I checked activity monitor and so a process named kernel task was taken up all my cpu. This makes the Macbook extremely slow.Ran apple hardware test and it reported error code 4hdd/11/40000000:sata(0,0).

Guess its a faulty ssd but how does a faulty ssd cause all these problems.I'm really confused. What can i do?Someone pls help.
